More than 600,000 tourists are expected for the soccer event in Brazil. Therefore safety is of course a major topic.
For a couple of years we are developing instruments which should guarantee the safety of visitors and participants of major events like the World Cup. 70 of our instruments have been distributed all over the country. 12 locations were equipped with a minimum of one GDA-First Response (GDA-FR), one GDA-Explosive (GDA-X) and one LS-ID.
The GDA-X is a further development of our GDA-First Response and was developed to detect explosives. It is our newest technology which will now be used in Brazil for the first time.
Army, Navy and Police have been equipped and their staff has been introduced to the devices in the last months. Our employees trained local teams to familiarize them with the instruments. In a 3-day training the functionality was shown and the devices were tested.
Locally a service team was established, which is able to maintain the instruments if needed. Part of the service team is a native Brazilian. He completed a detailed practical training in Germany to be prepared for emergencies.
At the FIFA Confederations Cup in June 2013 we already equipped Brazilian security forces with our instruments. It served as a rehearsal for the World Cup in Brazil 2014.
