AIRSENSE Analytics is going to visit the trade show INTERSCHUTZ in Hanover with a new development called GDA-P. The detector for enhanced personal detection provides reliable and sensitive detection of chemical agents and is expanded for the detection of TICs and further hazardous compounds. When demands for military and civil security operations get merged, an instrument has to provide higher analytical capability to provide safety and safe information.
Different sensors detect chemicals that cannot be detected by comparable sensors. The Ion Mobility Detector (IMS) provides compound-specific information on a large number of chemicals down to ppb range.
Furthermore there is an option to choose between two sensors: PID or EC. PID is a photoionization detector and discovers many substances. It will mainly be used for civil use such as fire brigades.
EC is an electrochemical cell that provides alarming capability on additional hazardous chemicals being more selective than the PID sensor.
Depending on the threat the GDA-P shows name and concentration of the substances. Up to two chemicals are indicated from the current sensor information. A bar graph informs about the chemical load in sampled air. LED lights at the top indicate the alarming status without the need for operator interference. A cleaning mode enables continuous operation of the detector made in Germany.
